Facilities

The mansion itself becomes home to up to 68 guests in 14 bedrooms, with handcrafted adult sized bunk beds. Toilets and Shower blocks with privacy cubicles are on every floor. Leaders are able to take a 'step back' with exclusive use of our kitchenette for teas, coffees and homemade biscuits, and can take advantage of our free WiFi service in the Georgian Lucas library. Our excellent customer service ensures that leaders will enjoy their stay every bit as much as their students.

Entrance Hall

The grand entrance hall boasts a beautiful, sweeping staircase and original flagstone floor, creating the perfect first impression and ideal for the service of arrival drinks and canapes.

Morgan Room

The Morgan Room is the perfect, elegant space for conferencing and gatherings of groups up to 40. The Morgan Room boasts original wooden shutters over the full length, south facing windows, perfect for your presentation and features beautiful mouldings and Georgian features. This space can be laid up for dining, meetings, presentations or networking events. Located adjacent to McCarthy's Bar, it is also the perfect space for a little music and gatherings in the evening with standing space of up to 80.

Lucas Library

The Lucas library is one of the most unique features of the house. This oval room features fully integrated, original bookcases of mahogany and walnut, complete with secret bookcase doorway through to the Banqueting Hall. This room has the perfect sophisticated ambience for smaller meetings of up to 12 or as a comfortable breakout, quiet space. The large bay windows face out to a beautiful view of the lawn and surrounding woodland.

The Banqueting Hall

This grand hall features full length sash windows on two sides allowing for views over the lawn and wonderful natural lighting. This space can seat up to 80 guests for dining out our locally made, bespoke banqueting tables. It is easy to see why this space is our most popular for wedding ceremonies.

McCarthy's Bar

Originally used as a gentleman's retirement room, McCarthy's bar has all the grandeur of Georgian gentry with a splash of rustic, woodland flair. This space has an abundance of character and the perfect atmosphere to relax and enjoy yourselves after a long day of meetings, classes or team-building activities.

The Tipis (or tepees - depending on your preference!)

Our beautiful event tipis are a beautiful addition to our lawn with a unique beauty perfect for any group looking for something a little different. Although its hard to believe from the outside, our tipis can seat up to 110 guests. The wooden structure of the interior, dressed in fairy lights and bunting, make for a truly magical space unlike any corporate event you will have attended before. The perfect space for dining, they are also ideally suited for live music. The tipis have their own bar and are licensed for service and music until 11pm.

The Grounds

The extensive and beautiful grounds are home to our host of activities from tree climbing to archery. In the middle of the woodland is the ruins of the old walled garden, now host to our wildness campfire spot. Check out our activities page for a full list of what's on offer!

Our woodland is home to many animals, birds and insects from weasels to owls, newts to badgers, and this incredible menagerie is a real asset to us here at Carreg Adventure.

There is also a cave and original ice house within our private woodland and the future plans for the site include making this area an accessible, spectacular event space.

Other Facilities

There is parking for up to 45 cars on site or ample space for a large coach. There is also a gift shop on site selling confectionary, toys and gifts in keeping with our traditional, natural image. Internet access is available in the Entrance Hall, Library and Morgan Room but please check connectivity before arrival. Our rural location does mean that, from time to time, internet service can be slow.

Our talented and creative chef works with all of our groups to design the perfect menu to suit your tastes and budgets. Whether you are looking for a delicate three course meal or a hearty, home cooked menu our chef will come up with the perfect dishes for your guests.

We believe that the secret to excellent food is simple, a great chef and locally sourced, quality ingredients. That is why we have worked tirelessly to find the best suppliers of the best produce South Wales has to offer.

Popular choices with our corporate groups are our chef's flavours of Wales menu, ideal for our out of area visitors and our, increasingly infamous, inventive take on afternoon tea. Other themed menus are available such as Spanish, Italian, Cuban and Southern barbeque to name but a few previous examples.

The are several options available for the location and style of your food service and these options can be explored with you as part of our event planning service. We can cater for most specific dietary requirements and our chef is always happy to speak to any guest with complex dietary needs to ensure that they have a menu to suit.

We hold a 5-star food hygiene certificate from Swansea County Council.

Accommodation and Bathroom Facilities

As a 4-star bunk house, our shared accommodation is a little different to what you might expect. Our philosophy of imagination and natural beauty has carried though in our design of our accommodation with a woodland flavour to every room. Our rooms, named after legend of Welsh mythology, vary in occupancy from 2 up to 12 giving you the flexibility to room your guests appropriately.

There is no doubt that the 'sleepover' experience breaks down barriers between people in way no other activity could. The shared excitement, the midnight whispering and the magical surroundings all add to the experience in a vital way. If you are looking to bond your team and build better working relationships, this is the way to do it.

All bedding and towels are provided along with complimentary toiletries. There is ample storage space for luggage and clothes and our beds have been commissioned by us to ensure a comfortable bunk house experience. Please check out our testimonials page for reviews of the accommodation.

Bathrooms are located on every floor with single shower, toilet and basin rooms and larger multiple toilet and shower rooms available. All showers benefit from privacy partitions including private changing area.
