Frequently asked questions - weddings

Can we come to decorate the day before?
Yes, you can have access to the property from 6pm the day before your big day. You can also add the Friday night as an extra and stay for dinner and the night. Any decorations or accessories to be brought to the venue must be pre-arranged in writing.

Can we bring our own alcohol?
You may bring your own alcohol for your toasts, table drinks or welcome drinks, however there is a corkage fee of £7.50 per bottle that will be added to your bill.

what are the booking and payment requirements?
To confirm your booking, you will need to complete a booking form and put down a non-refundable deposit (usually 10% of the venue hire), you will then be invoiced for 40% non-refundable deposit of the hire 12 weeks before your wedding. Your final invoice payment is to be made with confirmation of final numbers no later than 10 days prior to the wedding

Can you cater to different dietary needs?
Yes, we cater to all different dietary needs, but finalised menus (including any special dietary requirements) must be confirmed 4 weeks prior to the wedding date.

Do you have accommodation on site?
Yes, we can sleep up to 66 people in our comfortable bunked rooms. Accommodation booking for your wedding guests is to be finalised and received 4 weeks before the wedding date. Payment for accommodation must be made at the time of booking by your guests. Any outstanding balance on any booking (including damage fees) will be charged to the bride and groom if it cannot be recovered from the guest.

Can we use outside caterers?
We do not permit the use of outside caterers.Use of the catering kitchen and cold storage is not permitted for reasons of food hygiene and cross contamination.

When does the bar close?

The Tipi and the Tipi bar closes at 11.00pm due to noise and licence regulations. The House bar and entertainment can continue until 1.30am with all external doors and windows closed.

Do you permit fireworks?
We do not permit the use of fireworks or sky lanterns.

Do you permit confetti?
The use of confetti is limited to biodegradable and only permitted by prior arrangement.

Can we taste the food?
Yes, we offer our booked in couples a chance to sample some of our menu on our taster nights to help decide what is going to be perfect for each couple.

How do you help?
We offer an in house wedding coordinator who will meet with you numerous times throughout the planning of your day. Always available on the telephone and via email in office hours for any questions. Every detail of the running of your day will be planned and run through with you prior to your big day. Our experienced staff are always here to give tips and help with any questions or worries that you may have.

What happens if we have to cancel?
We recommend that you take out wedding insurance to cover all eventualities, from your band not turning up to a change of plan. It's always better to be covered in the event of something changing beyond your or our control. All deposits are non-refundable.
